Why I love Sugar
Sugaring is method of hair removal. Similar to waxing. The name for this method comes from the paste itself, which consists of lemon, water, and sugar. Only three ingredients! The ingredients are all heated together until it reaches a candy-like consistency. This mixture is much more natural and environmentally-friendly than wax... Sugaring may sound like waxing, but there’s a key difference: the direction in which hair is pulled. With waxing, the mixture is applied in the same direction as hair growth and then removed in the opposite direction of hair growth. With sugaring, it’s the exact opposite. The paste is applied against the direction of hair growth and removed in the direction of hair growth. This difference in application can make a big difference in whether there’s any hair breakage. Because waxing pulls hair out in the opposite direction of growth, hair follicles can easily break in half. Also sugar doesn’t adhere to the skin, so it only removes hair. Waxing, on the other hand, adheres to the skin and can cause more irritation . Some people find that there’s also less irritation with sugaring, so those who get red from waxing might prefer sugaring. In addition to a softer, hair-free appearance, sugaring offers other benefits. Sugaring provides light exfoliation. Sugar adheres to the dead skin cells sitting on the surface of the skin, removing them with the hair to reveal a smoother surface. This exfoliation helps renew the appearance of the skin. As with waxing, sugaring may cause hair to grow back softer and thinner through continued upkeep.
Basic Facial
Basic facial will start out with a consultation. Followed by a cleansing. Then a Skin Analysis. At this time I determine your basic skin type (dry, oily, combination, sensitive or normal) and skin conditions (acne, blackheads, whiteheads, aging, sun-damage, dehydration, etc.) I proceeded to Exfoliation using a mechanical or chemical exfoliation. Mechanical exfoliants have a gritty texture that rubs away the surface dead skin cells...Chemical exfoliation uses enzymes and acids to loosen the bond between skin cells.Then My favorite part of the facial Extractions . This is the removal of blackheads or whiteheads. People have different pain tolerance for extractions. To receive the best result of your facial, you may want to tough through the discomfort. After the extractions I use high frequency to help stimulate collagen and kill bacteria. Then a Relaxing facial massage. This in my opinion is the best part of any facial, using classic strokes like effleurage to both relax you and stimulate your skin and facial muscles. Then a Facial Mask is targeted to your skin type (dry, oily, combination, sensitive, mature) and condition. During the facial mask , you will receive a scalp massage. Last but not least application of toner, serums, moisturizer, and sunscreen.
Dermaplaning
Dermaplaning is a manual exfoliation treatment that is safely performed using a specialized surgical instrument and disposable blades designed specifically for dermaplaning. This removes both the vellus hair (peach fuzz) and the top layer of dead skin cells, allowing makeup to go on smoother and for skincare products to penetrate your skin and work more effectively...This facial follows the Basic Facial steps and Dermaplaning takes place of the exfoliation step. Price List
◦ Take an Ibuprofen (no blood thinners as this will have an effect when waxing) one hour beforewaxing to temporarily reduce pain and sensitivity if you are nervous.
◦ If it is your first time no shaving 15 days before your appointment for best results.
◦ Allow 3-4 weeks between waxes, to reduce pain. The hair should be at minimum quarter of an inch (the size of a grain of rice) for best waxing results.
◦ Notify me if you are on any medications or skin products that contain AHA’s, glycolic, dermabrasions or peels.
◦ Do not tan/spray tan within 24 hours of waxing service.
◦ Avoid any caffeine or alcohol before waxing service as it can make your wax more painful.
◦ Exfoliate the skin- this will give you the best results.
◦ Keep skin hydrating- if your skin is dry you can lift.

Becoming an esthetician was a natural career choice for me. It just took many years for me to realize it. From an early age skin care and waxing were a hobby of mine. You'll get the best results if you let the hair grow to about ¼ inch so the wax/ sugar can fully grab the hair. Everyone’s hair is different but that means at least 15 days of no shaving for best results.
Yes ! You can absolutely wax if it's that time of the month. But do keep in mind that the area will be more prone to sensitivity and you may experience more discomfort than usual. In order to successfully complete the service, you will need to wear a tampon.
Usually your wax will last between 3–4 weeks but everyone’s rate of regrowth is different, so results will vary between guests
It's always best to refer to your doctor if you have any questions. For prescribed creams like Retin-A or Differin, we advise that you stop use 7 days prior to your wax reservation and to not resume use until 7 days after your wax service. Note: I will not wax you if you're on Accutane. It's very dangerous to wax while on Accutane and a doctor's note will be needed to receive services.
It's best to be well hydrated and use gentle exfoliation several days before your first appointment. If your skin is dehydrated, it tends to hold onto the hair which can result in breakage rather than complete removal from the root. The more tense you are, the more pain you’ll feel. Refraining from alcohol and caffeine is always a good idea as well.
